The Defense Users Group (DUG) has its roots in informal meetings between military defense departments and service headquarters of several countries. After two years of meetings and discussions, we formed the DUG in 2004. Since its inception, the DUG’s strategic goal has been to provide an exchange of information and ideas with Oracle and each other in order to:

• Provide Oracle with the highest priorities and requirements for strategic product enhancements to support defense organizations, within a defense version of Oracle products;
• Provide consolidated feedback to Oracle of the HR challenges facing defense organizations and the role their Oracle and/or PeopleSoft products have in addressing these challenges;
• Provide a forum for Oracle to update defense customers of Oracle / PeopleSoft products on new initiatives, products and services to ensure the ongoing success of the member organizations; and
• Provide a valuable forum for defense organizations to network, share best defense HR system practices and discuss lessons learned of past/ongoing Oracle and/or PeopleSoft implementations.

In late 2008, the DUG aligned with OHUG to further support and promote membership in both organizations. We look forward to our full participation in OHUG conferences as a special interest group representing national defense organizations.
