Defense User Group (DUG)

The DUG SIG will meet at the OHUG Global Conference 2012

Monday, June 18 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

AGENDA

1. The morning agenda is filled with HR country updates

2. The afternoon is discussion time with subjects such as:
     a. social media
     b. next versions
     c. payroll
     d. training and education

Joining our session will be two Oracle representatives to discuss Solutions for Defense organizations; Gary Mutch, director of Defense Solutions and Steve Killoran, account director for MoD UK.

The Defense Users Group (DUG) has its roots in informal meetings between military defense departments and service headquarters of several countries. After two years of meetings and discussions, we formed the DUG in 2004. Since its inception, the DUG’s strategic goal has been to provide an exchange of information and ideas with Oracle and each other in order to:

Provide Oracle with the highest priorities and requirements for strategic product enhancements to support defense organizations, within a defense version of Oracle products;
Provide consolidated feedback to Oracle of the HR challenges facing defense organizations and the role their Oracle and/or PeopleSoft products have in addressing these challenges;
Provide a forum for Oracle to update defense customers of Oracle / PeopleSoft products on new initiatives and products and services to ensure the ongoing success of the member organizations; and
Provide a valuable forum for defense organizations to network, share best defense HR system practices, and discuss lessons learned of past/ongoing Oracle and/or PeopleSoft implementations.

In late 2008, the DUG aligned with OHUG to further support and promote membership in both organizations. We look forward to our full participation in OHUG conferences as a special interest group representing national defense organizations.

DUG Objectives

1. The objectives of the DUG are to:

a. Provide a valuable forum for defense organizations to network, share best defense HR system practices, and discuss lessons learned of past/ongoing implementations.

b. Provide vendors with the highest priorities and requirements for strategic product enhancements to support defense organizations, with the potential for developing a defense version of products.

c. Provide consolidated feedback to vendors of the HR challenges facing defense organizations and the role their HCM product has in addressing these challenges.

d. Provide a forum for vendors to update defense customers of products on new initiatives, products, and services to ensure the ongoing success of the member organizations.

Membership

2. Membership in the DUG will be offered to qualifying defense organizations that meet the following requirements:

a. Sponsorship by a voting member country

b. Acceptance by majority vote of member countries

3. DUG membership and their government-sponsors are not restricted from being members of other product users groups.
